Storage

Storage: temperature and RH

Stable humidity and cool rooms preserve oils and construction; swings punish wrappers and draw.

Most collectors target roughly 62-68% relative humidity and temperatures in the low-to-mid 60s °F, with consistency mattering more than chasing a single magic number. Too dry and wrappers crack; too wet and combustion turns sour or uneven. Seasoned Spanish cedar helps buffer swings. For marketplace lots, Captaincy documents storage claims because buyers are purchasing time in the leaf as much as the brand on the band.
